predicting the winners for…
outstanding WRITING in a D R A M A series
.
W I L L win
SEMI CHELLAS & MATTHEW WEINER for MAD MEN’s “FAR AWAY PLACES” or “the OTHER WOMAN”
with three nominations for writing it is not a question of which show will win but rather for which episode MAD MEN will.
both are outstanding episodes, the first is an exercise on structure while the latter was controversial but classy.
C O U L D win
ALEX GANSA, HOWARD GORDON & GIDEON RAFF for HOMELAND’s “PILOT”
this pilot was sold the minute they finished writing, it sets up every major plot line for the season and still managed to be a finished story on its own.
JULIAN FELLOWES for DOWNTON ABBEY’s “EPISODE SEVEN”
he won last year but in the miniseries / tv movie category and he might return to the podium for this show’s better reviewed episode.
S H O U L D win
A N Y O N E
it is a great year for drama series and every episode nominated is an outstanding episode.
